This month, the Prince George’s County’s Office of Communications held its inaugural Red Jacket Awards, recognizing community leaders and organizations for their efforts in actively engaging the local community and supporting residents that live in the County.

The theme for this year’s awards ceremony was “Lighting a path of greatness with our Community Beacons.” The Office of Community Relations describes the event as a way to honor individuals and organizations that serve as those lights of all shapes, sizes, and forms that illuminate its great County serving as beacons of hope, empowerment, joy, and pride for those who are proud to call Prince Georges County home.
