The Town of Edmonston is home to a diverse community with a rich history dating back to the 1920s. Formerly known as East Hyattsville, the town was incorporated in June of 1924 and renamed the Town of Edmonston by its founding fathers.
This weekend, the Town of Edmonston celebrated 100 years of being a bridging community with a parade and festival for local residents. The parade featured dancing acts, a kids trolley, Almas Temple members, and the Eclipse International Band.
The celebration will continue this Fall as the town hosts its Fall Gala to honor the diversity of the town by showcasing Latin, African, Caribbean, African American, Asian, South Asian, Pacific Islander and European cultured through food and performances.
